New retail store in Edmonton builds confidence and job-readiness – one tiger, one sunset, one heart at a time.
When you visit the Kingsway Mall in Edmonton, you’ll not only find Prospect Human Services meeting the needs of today’s job seekers, you’ll also find our new art retail store, Prospect Art Collective – giving our clients’ creativity the recognition it deserves. This art store, paired with supportive programming, is now open to the public, bringing thoughtful, innovative work solutions to Alberta’s employment landscape.
With the launch of our first exhibit, “Rediscovered,” we’re introducing some hidden gems to the public for the first time. Always seeking new ways to serve Albertans, particularly those with barriers to employment, Prospect is proud to introduce this unique social enterprise as we continue to stretch the boundaries of what’s possible.
In addition to being a fully-operational retail store inside the Kingsway Mall, Prospect Art Collective also serves as a supportive learning and skills-building environment for cohorts of job seekers facing significant challenges in their search for employment. As part of Prospect’s new Retail Mental Health program, this inviting art retail space allows participants to practice workplace skills in a calm and welcoming setting, where barriers to employment can be addressed, and where mistakes can be viewed as part as part of the growth process.
“Rediscovered” is a unique exhibition of remarkable works of art, created by our clients over many years. These amazing works have rested quietly on our office walls or in some of our Prospect storage rooms. Some were lovingly gifted by our clients in a show of gratitude, while others were simply left behind or forgotten over time. Today, we’re bringing them out into the light where they belong – to be shared, to be honored, to be celebrated.
Rediscovered is more than an art show; it is a testament to the journeys, dedication, and hidden talents of individuals who have worked tirelessly toward their personal and professional goals. Each piece on display tells a story of perseverance, capturing the intersection of creativity, courage, and personal transformation.
Prospect breaks barriers and employs change; this exhibition celebrates the diverse strengths of Albertans who are reshaping what it means to succeed. Just as these artworks have been unearthed and valued anew, Prospect is dedicated to helping people unlock their potential, break down barriers, and step confidently into inclusive workplaces.
